The Lightbearer depicts an energic image of a boat in troubled waters by the safety of a lighthouse. The artwork was fun to achieve and I enjoyed every stroke of the brush. I named the work Lightbearers for two reasons.

(1) The ultimate duty of the lighthouse-keeper is to keep the lighthouse in perfect order because the lighthouse bears the light that guides sailors to safety.

(2) It’s named after the Lightbearers Ministry, a group of hospital chaplain at John Stroger Hospital in Chicago. The chaplain's ministry functions as God’s lighthouse in the troubling seas of patient care.
